How PuzzlePix works

  1. 1. Add a photo

Upload a favorite picture or take a new one with your camera: a family portrait, a pet, a holiday view or a drawing by your child.

  2. 2. Choose shape and size

Keep the classic rectangle or pick one of 70+ shapes, then choose how many pieces you want, from a quick 4-piece puzzle to a 900-piece challenge.

  3. 3. Play and share

Solve it in your browser by dragging pieces into place. Send the link to friends and family so they can try the same puzzle.

More than rectangles: shaped photo puzzles

Most online jigsaw tools only cut photos into rectangles. PuzzlePix lets the whole puzzle take a shape. Turn a wedding photo into a heart, a picture of your cat into a cat silhouette, or a beach holiday into a sailboat. The collection includes basic shapes, over 30 animals, vehicles and everyday objects, and nature shapes such as a rainbow, snowflake or palm tree. Some shapes even have openings, like the camera with its round lens.

Every piece follows the outline exactly, so edge pieces look and feel like real shaped-puzzle pieces. Zoom and move your photo inside the outline before you create the puzzle so faces and details land where you want them.

Why photo puzzles are worth your time

Jigsaw puzzles train attention, patience and visual memory. Matching colors, edges and shapes exercises spatial reasoning for children and helps adults relax and focus. A puzzle made from your own photo adds something extra: people remember the moment as they rebuild it piece by piece.

  • Personal gifts: send a celebration or anniversary photo as a puzzle link.
  • Family fun: grandparents and grandchildren can solve the same picture from different homes.
  • Classrooms: teachers can turn maps, artwork or field-trip photos into quick activities.
  • Short breaks: a 16-piece puzzle takes a minute on your phone; a 400-piece one fills an evening.

Frequently asked questions

What photos can I turn into a puzzle?

Any JPG, PNG or WebP photo up to 25 MB works, from any phone or camera. You can also take a photo directly with your device camera. Larger, sharper photos give the best result when you choose many pieces.

Do I need an account to create a puzzle?

No. Anyone can create and play a puzzle without signing in. Guest puzzles are automatically deleted after 7 days. If you sign in, your puzzles stay until you delete them, and you can rename, lock or remove them from My Puzzles.

How many pieces can a puzzle have?

You can choose anything from a single piece up to 30 rows by 30 columns. Quick presets help you pick an easy, medium or hard puzzle, and you can type your own number of rows and columns.

What are shaped puzzles?

Besides the classic rectangle, PuzzlePix can cut your photo into more than 70 outlines: a heart, circle or star, animals like a lion, elephant or dolphin, vehicles like a yacht or helicopter, and nature shapes like a sun or palm tree. You can zoom and move your photo inside the shape so the best part is visible.

How do I share a puzzle with friends?

After creating a puzzle, copy its link and send it to anyone. They can play right in their browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to install. If you lock a puzzle, only you can open it.

What is the public gallery?

Signed-in members can submit their puzzles to the public gallery, where anyone can find and play them. You can search the gallery by name and filter it by difficulty.

Is PuzzlePix safe for families?

Every uploaded photo is checked automatically, and photos that break our Acceptable Use Policy are hidden and reviewed. Gallery submissions are reviewed before they become public, and anyone can report a puzzle.

Is PuzzlePix free?

Yes. Creating, playing and sharing puzzles is free. The site is supported by a small number of ads.
